A labyrinth of lanes up through the mountains and past lemon groves lead to Ravello, where you’ll be spoilt with unrivalled views across the Amalfi Coast. It’s secluded, scenic and utterly romantic, so it’s no wonder that Ying & Hong fell head over heels in love with it as the location for their wedding day.
The couple have known each other for more than eight years and prior to dating, had already been good friends. Working in the finance industry in London, Ying & Hong have a passion for travelling across the world, feasting on delicious food and experiencing different cultures. They had previously visited the Amalfi and were instantly smitten with the beautiful scenery, sunshine-filled skies and exquisite cuisine – having always wanted a destination wedding by the sea, it made total sense to say, ‘I Do’ here.
Ying & Hong chose to host their celebration at Belmond Hotel Caruso, a luxurious five-star hotel that was once an ancient palace. Along with its rich history, it boasts romantic gardens, olive trees and even an infinity pool for those all-important wedding photographs. They opted for a black-tie dress code with the prettiest colour palette of antique rose, dusty blue, navy and white. It was all about elegance and romance – a style that Ying adores! One of our resident wedding photographers, Gianni di Natale, was on hand to capture their beautiful wedding day on camera.
The bride-to-be got ready at Hotel Caruso with her six bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride, while Hong & his groomsmen got ready at Villa Amore with his five groomsmen. Hairstylist, Alessandro Mancino, arrived at the hotel to get the bridal party ready, with Ying wearing her hair in a chic up-do, teamed with a delicate hair vine. Her bridal look was completed with a pair of golden Jimmy Choos which featured embellished detailing for a dash of wedding day luxury! The bridal bouquet was a showstopper, filled with white English roses, blue delphinium, celeste hydrangeas, peach English roses and dusty miller.
A ‘first look’ moment took place between the bride and groom at Hotel Caruso while guests arrived and enjoyed fresh lemonade in the Italian sunshine. A string quartet played in the background as the bride and her father made their entrance to Canon in D. Ying & Hong exchanged their vows under a stunning floral archway of white and pale pink hydrangeas, while guests’ chairs were decorated with small hand tied bunches of roses, delphinium and hydrangeas. A carpet of white rose petals also created an aisle for Ying to walk down with her father and bridesmaids – it was a picture-perfect scene overlooking the sea and had to be seen to be believed.
After the ceremony, guests were spoilt with cocktails and canapés in the Upper Wagner Garden while family group photos were taken by Gianni. For the reception dinner, Ying & Hong decorated their tables with vases filled with florals, crystal candelabras and a mixture of tapered candles in different heights. The cake cutting and after-party were held at the Infinity Pool, with LED lighting and an epic DJ.
The next day, the newlyweds hosted a post wedding lunch for their closest friends and family at Hotel Garden before having a photo-shoot at Villa Cimbrone to conclude the celebrations. It was a wedding celebration we’ll never forget, so thank to you Ying & Hong for letting us be a part of your happily ever after.
