A first look that almost stopped time, the most beautiful dress and a Ravello wedding that was full of romance. We are super excited to be sharing Samantha & Anthony’s Amalfi Coast celebration with you today and it’s been a joy looking back this this couple’s photographs. They opted to spend their reception wining and dining at Belmond Hotel Caruso with a white, dusty rose and gold colour scheme. It was an intimate wedding day filled with stunning scenery, picture-perfect moments and plenty of magical memories. We’ll hand you over to bride, Samantha, so you can be inspired…
“Our wedding day far exceeded our expectations. It truly felt like a dream, which I always wanted for this day. There was not a single hiccup (or if there was, TAE made sure that Anthony and I knew nothing of it). Nothing could ever compare to the feeling of having all of the people we love be together across the world in this beautiful little town to celebrate us.
We chose The Amalfi Experience because of their extensive experience and knowledge of both the industry and the Amalfi Coast. Their attention to detail and the countless rave reviews about these amazing women could not be ignored. When choosing a wedding planner, it was important to Anthony and myself that our planner was local to the area we were getting married and fluent in both English and Italian, being able to communicate with us and locally with our vendors.”
Samantha wanted her wedding hairstyle to be soft and romantic, choosing to wear her hair in an elegant half up half down style with loose curls and a few stray pieces to frame her face, thanks to Tonino Santoro. Make-up Artist Alessia Sirena created a classic and pretty bridal look with a subtle smoky eye for an extra hint of glamour for Samantha’s aisle style.
“My dress was designed by Martina Liana and it was the very first dress I tried on.” Samantha tells us, “My shoes were by Bella Belle and my perfume was Tom Ford Sole di Positano. For my something borrowed, I wore my sister’s blusher and diamond stud earrings that belonged to my aunt who had recently passed. My something old and blue was my grandfather’s handkerchief and my grandmothers blue pin that was pinned to my bouquet.”
The newlyweds chose Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello for their reception – Samantha had actually had her heart set on this venue months before she’d even stepped foot onto the property. “Everything from the breath-taking view to the sweet smells of this hotel stay with you long after you leave. Being suspended in the clouds, it embodied everything I wanted in our wedding day; romance, elegance and tranquillity.”
Flowers played a huge part in Samantha & Anthony’s celebration. “I love flowers! For me, the flowers were incredibly important, and I made sure to have wiggle room in my budget to bring my vision to life. For the ceremony we had all white florals, lining the aisle to bring a garden feel and two large pedestal arrangements on each side of us. For the reception we mixed varying heights of white and dusty rose flowers.”
We worked with the couple to decorate the venue in true Amalfi Coast style, stringing twinkling fairy lights in the olive trees and placing an abundance of candles everywhere. They had live music for both the ceremony and reception with a piano, cello, and saxophone that truly added to the ambiance they wanted to create. “We kept our guests entertained by having live music as well as a DJ. Having different spaces for our ceremony, seated dinner and dancing kept our guests moving and the sparkler arch and rose petal toss kept all our guests involved in our day… and of course, endless drinks- cheers!”
Their friends and family were spoilt with an absolute feast, enjoying red and white wine, Italian prosecco, as well as an open bar at the after party. “Our guests ate a caprese salad, vegetable risotto with basil mousse and provola cheese, filet of turbot or beef fillet gratin, and traditional Amalfi Coast lemon sponge cake. We also had a desert buffet at the after party.”
We asked Samantha what her favourite part of her stunning Ravello wedding was and her answer truly made us smile, “My favourite part of our wedding day was the moment Anthony turned around on the church steps to see me during our first look. My memory of our entire wedding day feels like one magical, hazy dream, but in that moment in the church when it was just us, time stopped.”
Finally, the beautiful bride offered her advice to future couples who are planning on getting married on the Amalfi Coast…
“My advice for future couples is redundant, but true; enjoy every moment. I was told this over and over again and we tend to just brush it off. Your wedding day takes months to plan and it is over in the blink of an eye. Live in the moment and enjoy your loved ones. As stressful as all of the planning can be, take a breath and enjoy it. There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t wish I could go back and relive my wedding day and all of the planning all over again.”
