As soon as Lauren & James’ wedding photographs landed in our inbox, we just knew we had to share them with you. This couple were wonderful to work with and we loved working alongside their vision to create an elegant wedding day that was the perfect fit for the Amalfi Coast and a fairy tale start to their happily ever after.

Lauren & James contacted The Amalfi Experience just before they embarked on their year out travelling around the world. We adored every second of hearing about their journey across the globe, planning their wedding over email and the phone, before finalising the final details once they returned to the UK. We also had the opportunity to welcome Lauren & James to the Amalfi Coast so they discovered its history, beauty and charm ahead of the big day.

The day began with Lauren and her team of ‘maids getting ready at Palazzo Avino, a calming and elegant space for the morning of the wedding, with fizz and matching silk robes. The bride opted to choose to bring her hair and make-up stylists over from the UK, and we think we can all agree her bridal look was just incredible. The groom and his groomsmen chose to get ready at Hotel Villa Fraulo, an Instagram-worthy location in Ravello.

Lauren walked down the aisle by her two brothers to a String Quartet playing Elvis Presley’s, ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’. The bride looked exquisite in her subtly sparkling wedding gown as she made her way down a full carpet of white petals, before meeting her groom, James, at the altar. The ceremony space featured a four-poster canopy with elegant white drapes adorned with white florals. A local painter captured the essence of the wedding ceremony through his oil painting, leaving the couple with a gift to cherish for years to come. Their outdoor ceremony was a civil wedding in the ‘Giardini Principessa di Piemonte’, boasting spectacular views over the sea and surrounding areas.

The newlyweds then savoured some time together as newlyweds exploring Ravello, with Linas Dambrauskas expertly capturing their couple portraits, while their guests headed to Hotel Caruso for the reception. Their friends and family were greeted with cocktails and canapés on the Wagner Lawn with the Neapolitan Quintet playing the background, who entertained their guests during the pre-dinner aperitif. For the wedding dinner, Lauren & James and their guests wined and dined amongst olive trees adorned with fairy lights, overlooking the coastline. Their tables were lined with show-stopping cascading florals and greenery, and a luxurious flower frame for the seating plan. Capiz oyster shells and hand calligraphed with the name of each guest were used as an exquisite alternative to a traditional escort card.

Lauren & James cut their wedding cake next to the famous Infinity Pool, which was surrounded by lanterns and floating floral arrangements. The wedding party then enjoyed a night of dancing under the stars with a live band playing – it was the perfect Amalfi wedding!
